Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan, where prayer wheels (mani wheels) are an inseparable part of daily life and sacred landscape. These cylindrical devices, inscribed with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, are spun clockwise by devotees to accumulate merit and spread spiritual blessings. Found along temple walls, riverside paths, and mountain passes, the prayer wheels of Thimphu embody the deep Buddhist faith that permeates every aspect of Bhutanese culture in the world's last great Himalayan kingdom.
