About the Colchis Fountain
The Colchis Fountain stands at the heart of Kutaisi's Central Square, crowned with enlarged gilded replicas of ancient Colchian jewellery — tamada figures, horses and deer unearthed from burial sites across western Georgia. Unveiled in 2011, its tiered basin and cluster of golden animals turned centuries-old goldsmithing from the kingdom of Colchis into the city's modern emblem.
