Los Angeles is represented by the iconic LA letters from the Dodgers logo, a symbol that embodies the city's passionate baseball culture and entertainment heritage. The Los Angeles Dodgers, one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball, have been a beloved part of LA since moving from Brooklyn in 1958, and their distinctive interlocking LA design has become synonymous with the City of Angels.

Since the franchise relocated from Brooklyn before the 1958 season, the Dodgers have worn an interlocking "LA" monogram on their caps, a mark that has changed little in more than six decades. The team played its first four seasons in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, then moved to Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine in April 1962. Similar interlocking LA monograms had been used earlier by the Pacific Coast League's Los Angeles Angels, so the Dodgers' version continued an older local convention rather than inventing it. Today the two letters function as shorthand for the city itself, appearing on caps worn far from any ballpark and used by residents as a statement of where they are from.
