About the Cité du Vin

Bordeaux is the capital of the world's most famous wine region, and its modern emblem is La Cité du Vin — a museum devoted entirely to the culture of wine. Opened in 2016 on the banks of the Garonne, the building's golden, curving silhouette evokes wine swirling in a glass, its facade clad in shimmering aluminium and glass panels. Inside, visitors journey through the civilisations of wine before tasting a glass at the panoramic belvedere overlooking the city's eighteenth-century quays.
