Leverkusen Bayer Cross

Leverkusen Bayer Cross - Leverkusen, Germany

About the Bayer Cross

Leverkusen is marked by the Bayer-Kreuz, the illuminated cross that has risen over the Rhine since 1933 and, after being dismantled in the Second World War, was rebuilt in 1958. Roughly 51 metres across and visible for kilometres after dark, it serves as the city's night-time orientation point and the emblem of the chemical works that Leverkusen grew around.
